[Remember it, rabbit! He's not showing it to you again! A few doors away, he ushers Alice and Oz past him so that he can walk behind them, just in case anyone does decide to sneak up behind them. But Oz should recognize the door up ahead, room 133.]
[ alice glances at the door oz stops at, but she doesn't actually notice there are numbers on the doors. she's too busy looking around to see if anyone else is around thanks to being ushered ahead. but she waits, just as she should. ]
[He unlocks it, half looking over his shoulder still. This part of the base should be secure, but he would have thought the cafeteria would be as well and look at how well that worked out. The door is held open for the two of them to enter first.]
[ oh good, a bed! it was only when she saw the bed that alice realized she was really tired. she did only get kidnapped onto the moon during a fight with echo after all. and there's the zombies. we all know what happened.
so she plops herself next to oz, sleepiness slowly replacing hunger. it'd be better to sleep with a full stomach though... ]
[What a strange, long day it's been. Gilbert locks the door behind them and then leans against it with a small sigh. They'll be safe in here for now, and he and Break do have food squirreled away. If Alice and Oz take his bed tonight he can sleep in the empty one or even on the floor, it won't be such a big deal. Then tomorrow they can continue to attempt to solve this zombie problem.
For now, though, it's enough to calm his heart to see the two of them sitting (or laying) side by side.]
( there's a half-smile and an uptick of an eyebrow at that; he's only just returned from a peaceful (and dare he say, enjoyable) mission with ahiru at a dance camp nestled in the woods, where the biggest danger was an instructor who took an inordinate amount of pleasure in shipping them. )
[If they hadn't been chased down the hallway by the undead and cats on Roombas, Gilbert might be more inclined to agree. Though, their answers are at least enough to put his mind more at ease, and wordlessly he flops down onto the floor in front of them. Instinctively, his hand moves towards his jacket pocket for a cigarette, a gesture that a month of no smoking hasn't broken him of yet. He settles instead for taking the jacket off and tossing it onto the chair nearby.]

Thank you, Alice! They won't stand a chance against you.
( despite all evidence to the contrary )

[ she smiles, although she does shoot gilbert a quick glare. ]
So now that that's settled, we can worry about things later.

We're almost there.
no subject
Exactly, exactly!
( oz follows easily; he'd been a bit distracted at first, but this room is one he knows the way to just as well as his own. )

Are you both okay?

Of course we're okay. We're all here now, right?
no subject
Mmn.
no subject
Exactly!
( he says, and doesn't have to feign the cheer, really; not with the three of them really reunited for the first time in a long time. )

He sits back, rests his hands on the ground and closes his eyes.]
I filled her in on as much as I could while you were gone. She probably doesn't remember half of what I said though.
[Just gonna talk about her like she's not sitting right there.]

Do you understand everything, Alice?
no subject
[ that's everything. kinda. ]
no subject
[Just so that she's clear on that part!]

( HE'S HELPFUL )

Like I'd eat rotting meat, idiot!

[Alice can you blame him for wanting to be very clear on this.]
